Mark's Bio

Mark Burroughs was raised in a family of seven children.  He attended Klein High School in the north Houston metro area, graduating in 1976, 4th in his class of 526.  At Stephen F. Austin State University, Mark majored in Business Administration (economics), History, and Political Science.  He was elected Freshman President, and served as both Vice President AND President of the Student Body.  Mark graduated in 3 years with honors.  Mark obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin in 1982.

Mark and his wife Annie (a graduate of UNT and Denton High School) have two children,  daughter Madeline (21) and son Mark, Jr. (19).

Mark has been totally committed to “service above self” in his community for many years.  He has been active in literally dozens of community service, civic, public school, transportation, business, public health and other Denton and regional metroplex organizations.  In many  of these organizations, Mark has been elected or chosen to serve at the highest levels of leadership.
